Nathaniel Zhang
Nathaniel Zhang, 17, resides in Folsom, CA. He has been recognized for outstanding achievements in numerous piano competitions, including First Prizes at the MTNA National Junior Performance Competition, Virginia Waring International Junior Solo and Concerto Competitions, and Henry & Carol Zeiter Piano Competition. He has also garnered accolades as a top prize-winner of the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, International Piano-E Competition, Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition, Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition, San Jose International Piano Competition, and NW Chopin Piano Festival. Additionally, he was the 2023 National YoungArts Finalist winner.
As a soloist, Nathaniel has performed with several orchestras, including the Seattle Symphony, Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, Auburn Symphony, Folsom Lake Symphony, Gulf Coast Symphony, Philharmonia Northwest, Virginia Waring, and Florence Conservatory Orchestra.
Nathaniel was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall at the age of 8 and held his inaugural solo recital at 10. He loves sharing music with all audiences, and performing for 1st graders in elementary school. His story was highlighted on ABC’s World News Tonight with David Muir in a segment titled “America Strong,” and he was also featured on NPR’s From The Top.
Nathaniel currently studies with Dr. Sasha Starcevich. He will begin studies at the Curtis Institute of Music this fall.
