Pianist Zhiye Lin, born in the Shantou, Canton Province in 1996, began playing piano at the age of 7. In 2011, he won the excellent performance prize in a concerto competition held in the Middle School affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and first prize of the V Category in the Third Piano Competition of NIHON Piano Association in Tokyo, Japan. He also received second prize of The II Edition of the International Piano Competition “Villa de Xàbia” (2014), second prize of One-Piano, Four Hands Ensemble in the Melvin Stecher and Norman Horowitz New York International Piano Competition (2016), first prize in the High Point University Piano Competition in North Carolina (2018) and first prize in the West Virginia International Piano Competition (2019).

He has performed at The Kennedy Center, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, He Lvding Hall, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall and Ningbo Concert Hall. He has also received multiple scholarships, including the Ende Niu Piano Major Scholarship (2009), the People Scholarship of Shanghai Music Middle School Affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory Of Music (2010-2015), and the YAMAHA Music Scholarship (2016). He had attended master classes with Gray Graffman, Piotr Paleczny, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, David Lively, Fumiko Eguchi, Alvin Chow, Matti Raekallio, John Perry, and Stanislav Pochekin and Dang Thai Son. In 2007, he began his studies at the middle school affiliated with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music with Ting Zhou. Since 2015, he has been studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the guidance of Haesun Paik.
