Born in 2000 in Chongqing, China, Yongqiu Liu started piano playing at the age of four. After completing her study in Music Middle School Affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music, she is now a student and full scholarship recipient in New England Conservatory. She has studied with Ting Zhou, Zhe Tang, Wha Kyung Byun, and is now studying with Alexander Korsantia.

She has won many international prizes including the second prize in Chopin International Youth Piano Competition; the USASU Yamaha Senior Competition; Summer Festival Concerto Competition; Music and Taiwan Maestro Piano Festival Competition; and International Jeunesses Music Competition in Belgrade.  She has won first prize in Asian Piano Open Competition; special prize of 30.000 euros in the 2018 Malta Piano Competition as the youngest competitor among 728 competitors; and fourth prize in 9th Tchaikovsky Competition for young musicians.  She was also a finalist of the Minnesota E-Piano Competition in 2017.

She has performed with Minnesota Orchestra, Serbia National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Novosibirsk Orchestra, Armenia Orchestra, Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, New York Festival Orchestra, Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, and Sichuan Conservatory Orchestra.  She has appeared as a soloist in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Italy, Serbia, Poland, Malta and China. She was invited to perform in Rome Music Festival, “Spring of Shanghai” Music Festival series concert, Trentino Music Festival in Italy, Cologne Music Festival in Germany, BIMFA Festival and Ameri-China International Music Festival with the Juilliard School in China, and was invited to give a recital in the Polish Embassy in Beijing. She has also played for the Central Leader of China in Shanghai Helvting Concert Hall, with lots of acclaim. She was awarded with Honor of People Scholarship over ten times, and also won the Shanghai Literary and Artistic Talent Scholarship, Ende Niu Scholarship, Junyuan Tang Scholarship, Chengxian Fu Scholarship, and many other honors.

Beyond the piano, Yongqiu also likes photography, films and traveling.
