Eighteen year old William Yang has received prizes in several competitions, including the Midwest International Piano Competition, Cleveland International Piano Competition and the Thomas and Evon Cooper International Piano Competition. As a soloist, Mr. Yang has appeared with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra, and Minnesota Orchestra. He currently studies with Robert McDonald at the Curtis Institute of Music where he is the Robert Ehrman Fellow. His previous teachers were Alexander Kirsantia and Paul Wirth. Mr. Yang has also received instruction from Hung-Kuan Chen, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Gary Graffman, Peter Takacs, André Watts, and others.
