Junhao Wang, a high school senior, studies piano with Dr. Jack Winerock. Some of his recent accomplishments include receiving Second Prize in the 2018 Blüthner International (IIYM) Piano Competition and Third Prize in the 2018 Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Competition for Young Pianists.
Previously, he also won Second Place in the 2015-16 National MTNA Piano Competition, Third Place in the 2015 Seattle International Piano Competition, First Place in the 2013 and 2015 Utah Music Teachers Association Piano Concerto Competitions, and First Prize in the 2013 American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition (AFAF). He has competed in some of the most well-known international piano competitions, including the 2017 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, the 2016 Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition, and the 2015 Cleveland International Piano Competition for Young Artists.
Junhao has had concerto performances with the Kansas City Symphony, Heritage Philharmonic, Midwest Chamber Ensemble, American West Symphony of Utah, and the Salt Lake Symphony. As an AFAF winner, he performed at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. Also, resulting in his placement in the Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Competition, Junhao was invited to perform in the 2018 Puerto Rico International Piano Festival.
