Project Description

Laylo Rikhsieva was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. She is a student of Thomas Lymenstull at Interlochen Arts Academy. Most recently, she was the main piano performer at the Embassy Series in Washington,, D.C.. Laylo began her piano studies at the age of five. At the age of 9, she performed the Mozart Concerto #28 with the Uzbek Chamber Orchestra, and she was the winner of the Nicolai Rubinstein International Piano competition in France, the second prize winner at Pietro Argento in Italy, and a finalist at David D.Dubois Piano Festival and Competition in Ohio, USA.

Laylo has attended many international piano festivals on full scholarship, including: New Names in Russia, Chethams Summer School for Pianists in Manchester, UK;  the International Piano Academy and festival in Freiburg, Germany;  the Eastern Music Festival in North Carolina;  the John Perry Academy in Los Angeles;  and the Art of the Piano Festival in Ohio, USA. Laylo appeared with the Uzbek National Symphony Orchestra, performing the Saint-Saens Piano Concerto #2.  She was soloist in the Beethoven Piano Concerto #1 and the Mozart Piano Concerto #23 with Maestro David Coleman, staff conductor at the Berlin State Opera and Ballet.
