Born in 1987, pianist Jiwon Han is a native of Incheon in South Korea. He began his piano studies at the age of three. At the age of ten, he appeared as a soloist with Korean Philharmonic Orchestra performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 in A major, K.488. In the same year, he gave his first solo recital at Incheon Culture and Arts Center, which was followed by performances throughout Korea, Europe and America.
In 2013 he won 2nd prize in the ISANG YUN International Competition, and in 2014 his debut album was released. He was also invited to perform at Salle Cortot in Paris, France. In 2015 his 2nd album Romanticism was released.
Mr. Han studied with Prof. Young-Bang Cho at Gyeonggi Arts High School where he graduated with the highest honor. In the Korea National University of Arts, he studied with Prof. Choong-Mo Kang for bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and studied with Prof. Daejin Kim for his artist diploma.
He is currently studying with Prof. Awadagin Pratt at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for his artist diploma, being granted a full scholarship and Art of the Piano Foundation Award.
